Shadowy figure Reckreator is the latest name to join the Lucidflow family. Little is know about the Hamburg resident – formerly from Melbourne, Australia – other than their penchant for building their own synth setups from scratch. You can tell there is a playful experimentalism in ‘Rise’ that comes from the fluid mind of someone adept at tinkering with bespoke setups.
You immediately get a feel for this when first track ‘Rise’ starts off straight up moody, as a swampish vocal bubbles away under deft chord shifts. Mercurial, a sudden lurch to the left and a change of key and the track decides it is all about resonant staccato and syncopation. Unexpected and intriguing.
‘Rise’ will be available from all the usual stockists on 10th Sept.
