To continue the series of my all time favourit artists I am chuffed to share 75min of listening pleasure from Sebastian Mullaert (aka Minilogue) with you. What a yummy Santa Claus surprise :)

Thank you for all the great music you have created, Sebastian, and the goosebumps and joy you have given us through your excellent sound! And for taking the time to inspire us with your very interesting and meaningful interview answers.

Interview:
1. Lucidflow: How does a creative day look/feel like for you?

Sebastian: I try to live a life where I have the possibility to be reminded about my being and at the same time be able to remind other beings about their being. You could say that it’s an invitation of the being to the being to be … Might sound stupid but at the moment I feel that this is the only true meaning there is. I try to let this be the intention behind everything I do; both in my daily life, my zen practise and my creative work in the studio and when I’m performing music on stage.
Like most beings I meet on this journey I also have loads of habitual patterns and unbalances that can be a hinder in keeping this pure intention strong all the time, patterns that I’m unaware about that hinder me and my surrounding to express creativity. Being aware and see this and also gather the strength and faith to face what I most of all want to escape is part of this practise, my daily life with my wife and two children, my zen practise and my creative work in the studio are all amazing ways to do this. This is the life I have right now and I’m thankful for getting this opportunity to let freedom take place; within and outside … So this definition no longer make any sense.

Also in the studio I’ve found ways to express creativity. I will try to keep it short but I could probably write a book about this since I think it is a very ingesting subject and a subject that can be of interest for most people whatever they do, creativity is not something excluded to artists … All of us beings are taking part of the creation of this universe, all of us have the responsibility to free oneself for the benefit of all, this means living a creative life; a life where this very moment is expressed thru our being; consciousness.

Most days in the studio are different and I try to let them be different, too many times I’ve structured things … Often because I’m so excited about feeling the flow and creativity that the structuring part of me try to grab life and keep it as it is, which is an impossible thing to do, life and creativity is change itself … Working against change is not creativity, I’ve learnt to listen to the feeling when I express these non creative patterns … Lust and happiness disappear and the magical feeling of flow is replaced with a grey feeling of “have to do”.

A couple of things I’m keeping as a practise in the studio; one or two walks in the forests that surrounds the studio and village (röstånga) where I live, and a 45 minute mediation. I normally do this before I start to express myself. I want to express from the being within, from the place where everything is perfect and nothing more is needed … This is the place where I feel the love comes from that should be source for where the universe is being created, in this very moment. If I’m not connected with this inner being there is a big risk that other more destructive patterns get part of my expression and then also shared with the rest of the world, in the end this is what I’m then sharing with myself. The being is not reminding the being but the habitual patterns are just being amplified into the future.

2. Lucidflow: How do you hinder yourself in being creative?

Sebastian: when I’m not taking my responsibility to see what I said the last question.

3. Lucidflow: how do you support yourself in being creative?

Sebastian: like I said in the first question … I try to live a life where I let myself be reminded about my being, about living a creative life by everything I meet. This is of course not always the case, some patterns are very strong! Mediation, waking in the forest, dancing, playing instruments and sharing life with other beings are all wonderful and strong tools to make a creative life possible for me.

4. Lucidflow: How did you come across Lucidflow?

Sebastian: I got a nice invitation by email from nadja lind:)

5. Lucidflow: Tell us one of your greatest wishes:

Sebastian: for all of us to be free:)

6. Lucidflow: If you had an infinite amount of time and money what would you do?:

Sebastian: continue to make music so people can dance and feel:)

7. Lucidflow: Anything else you’d like to spread to the Lucid world?

Sebastian: let life and your creativity guide your way, listen to how it feels, dare to face the ghosts that you’re trying to hide or run away from … I think this is a great way to freedom:)

Gabrielle Roth once said this, I feel it’s very true:)

“In many shamanic societies, if you come to a medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of these four questions:
“When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop being comforted by the sweet territory of silence?”
