2013 proved to be some year for Lucidflow. Taking the flow of high quality releases as a given, the Klartraum Secret Moon remixes project inundated listeners with reworkings from the cream of the scene, making an outing on both digital and an exclusive vinyl series. While 2014 has some interesting cards up the sleeve in a similar fashion, the early year blues can be blown away by this release from Warren Fellow.

Warren, a prominent figure of the dutch scene, is well known for his ceaseless festival and club circuit work. As such, his releases hit high octane heights yet tempered with a deep soul – a mentality that has attracted labels like Desolat and Circle, along with remix duty for artists such as Darko Esser and Alex Flatner.

Unsurprisingly, this has translated into a main room experience outing on Lucidflow, as The Nature Of Sound dispenses with any meandering nonsense, working thunking beats and a nagging bassline hook.

Turning his hand to the trademark scalpel edged Lucidflow sound, Always Be slots right into the catalogue, moving with ease with the faintest suggestion of melodic textures that rise to prominence over the main break.

Finishing off the release is Spaces, a little shining star of a track. The staccato arpeggio gives the groove led approach momentum and is garnished with the simplest yet most effective of touches – a sharp open 909 hi-hat that nicks you with a cut of clarity.
